Furphy shines in Summer League – Day 3

Day three in the city of lost wages showcased the very best of Australia’s up and coming talent, with strong performances from Luke Travers, Josh Bannan and second round pick Johnny Furphy.

Travers kicked off the day, further cementing his NBA credentials with a box score stuffing performance against the Milwaukee Bucks. On the Bucks’ side, former New Zealand import Hugo Besson had a good showing in his first hit out of Summer League with eight points.

While being played out of position, Josh Bannan had eight points and six rebounds for the Clippers in their victory versus the Brooklyn Nets, but it was Johnny Furphy who stole the show. Furphy top scored out of all Australian and NBL talents on day three with 18 points in Indiana’s loss to Minnesota.

Minnesota Timberwolves defeated Indiana Pacers (105-94)

  • Johnny Furphy – 18 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals, 2 blocks

Houston Rockets defeated Washington Wizards (109-91)

  • Alex Sarr – 8 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks
